Welcome to Pathway to Purpose
At Pathway to Purpose, we believe in the transformative power of language education and the unique impact of teen-to-teen connection. Our mission is to empower compassionate and motivated teens to make a real difference by helping other students around the world build confidence and fluency in English.
Founded by tutor Jack Hibell, Pathway to Purpose was inspired by firsthand experience working with students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Through tutoring English learners from different countries, Jack discovered that learning is most powerful when it feels personal and relatable. As a teen working with other students, he saw how shared experiences and understanding created a more comfortable, engaging learning environment.
These connections became the foundation of Pathway to Purpose—a program built on the idea that teens can learn best from other teens. By pairing teen tutors with international students, we create a supportive space where learners feel understood, encouraged, and confident practicing English. It’s not just about grammar or vocabulary—it’s about real conversations, friendships, and mutual growth.
Our approach goes beyond traditional instruction. We focus on authentic communication, cultural exchange, and peer-to-peer mentorship. When teens teach and learn from each other, language becomes more than a subject—it becomes a bridge between lives, perspectives, and futures.
Message From the Founder

In a world as divided as ours, it is more important than ever that young people remain connected. Across cultures, languages, and borders, there is a growing need for understanding, empathy, and meaningful communication.

When I first began tutoring English, I believed I was simply helping students improve their language skills. Over time, I came to understand that the experience carried far greater significance. Each session became an opportunity to build trust, exchange perspectives, and form genuine connections with students from different parts of the world.

Through this work, I saw how language can empower individuals. It gives students the confidence to express themselves, to share their ideas, and to engage with others beyond their immediate environment. As a student working with other students, I also recognized the unique value of peer-to-peer learning. There is a level of comfort and relatability that allows these connections to develop in a more meaningful way.

Pathway to Purpose was created to expand upon that idea. It is built as a structured, global initiative where young people can support one another through language, mentorship, and shared experience. What began as a small effort has grown into a community united by a common goal: to bridge divides and create opportunity through education.

At its core, this organization reflects a belief that young people have the capacity to lead, to teach, and to make a lasting impact. Every tutor contributes time and dedication. Every student brings a voice that deserves to be heard.

Pathway to Purpose is not only about learning English. It is about strengthening connections, building confidence, and ensuring that even in a divided world, our generation continues to grow together.
Thank you for being part of this mission.
