Pathway to Purpose

At Pathway to Purpose, we believe in the transformative power of education and the deep connections it creates across cultures. Our mission is simple: to empower compassionate and motivated teens to make a meaningful impact on the world by tutoring English to international students.
Founded by tutor Jack Hibell, Pathway to Purpose grew out of Jack’s own experiences in tutoring. As a tutor, Jack formed incredibly meaningful bonds with his students, discovering not only the joy of teaching but also the power of learning from others. These connections inspired him to create Pathway to Purpose, a program that provides teens with the opportunity to tutor international students, fostering both educational growth and cultural exchange.
Our approach is grounded in the belief that education is not just about academic learning—it’s about building confidence, developing cross-cultural understanding, and discovering a sense of purpose in making a difference.
Our Mission
Pathway to Purpose empowers compassionate and motivated teens to forge meaningful global connections by tutoring English to international students. By partnering with international organizations and carefully vetting teen volunteers, we create impactful educational opportunities that foster cross-cultural understanding, confidence, and purpose on both sides of the exchange.
Why Us?
What makes our impact and process different from other organization

Impactful Tutoring
Our teen tutors are carefully vetted and trained to provide personalized English tutoring to international students. They bring enthusiasm, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others succeed.

Global Connections
By connecting with students from different countries, both the tutors and the learners benefit from a rich, shared experience that transcends borders and cultures.

Developing Purpose
Pathway to Purpose is more than just a tutoring program; it’s a chance for teens to discover their own potential, build leadership skills, and gain a sense of purpose in making a difference.
Meet the Founder
My name is Jack Hibell, and I am a sophomore at the Ranney School with a deep passion for education, communication, and service. I founded Pathway to Purpose to create meaningful connections through language and to empower individuals from diverse backgrounds by helping them gain confidence in English.
Over the past few years, I’ve dedicated countless hours to tutoring English language learners from a wide range of origins. This experience has not only taught me the power of language in shaping opportunity, but also the importance of patience, empathy, and cultural understanding.
Pathway to Purpose was born from a simple belief: that with the right support and tools, anyone can find their voice. Through this nonprofit, I aim to equip volunteers—many of them students like myself—with the training and guidance they need to become effective, compassionate English tutors.I believe that every conversation is a step toward connection, and every lesson is a step toward purpose
